The SDA Main Board today adopted the information of SDA Deputy President Bakir Izetbegović on the current political situation. The formation of the Council of Ministers of BiH and the FBiH Government was welcomed, and a demand was made for the governments of HNK, SBK, and Livno cantons to be elected as soon as possible in order to complete the process of implementing election results, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
The SDA Main Board expects the elected governments to begin intensive work on priority tasks, especially on unblocking BiH's Euro-Atlantic integration, establishing a simple and efficient coordination mechanism, and defining a "roadmap" for sectoral reforms so that BiH obtains candidate status for EU membership by the end of the year. The Council of Ministers of BiH and the FBiH Government are required to decisively approach priority reforms related to strengthening the economy, creating new jobs, fighting corruption, improving citizens' living standards, and more effective social protection.
The SDA Main Board, due to the importance of this issue, reiterates its conclusion from the last session of the Main Board concerning the Census of Population. The SDA Main Board expresses serious concern over attempts to falsify the results of the 2013 Census. SDA will use all legal means to prevent discrimination against enumerated citizens. We warn the BiH Statistics Agency that when processing census data, it must act in accordance with the law and respect the statements of enumerated citizens regarding their place of residence. If this is not done and the census results are falsified with the aim of artificially reducing the percentage of the Bosniak population in BiH, especially in the RS, SDA will not recognize the census results, as this would be the completion of ethnic cleansing.
The SDA Main Board strongly condemns the declaration adopted today in the National Assembly of RS regarding the request for an assessment of the constitutionality of the Law on Holidays of RS before the Constitutional Court of BiH in case number U-3/13. This is a gross pressure on the Constitutional Court of BiH and direct interference in the work of judicial institutions. Instead of this, SDA representatives in that Assembly offered conclusions by which the RS Assembly should express its unconditional readiness to respect the principles of independence and autonomy of courts and the prohibition of political interference in their work. The adopted declaration will be challenged by delegates of the Bosniak Club in the Council of Peoples of RS.
The SDA Main Board strongly condemns the announcement by SNSD that it will adopt a Resolution on a "sovereign and free RS" at its Party Congress.
We warn SNSD and its leadership not to play with the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Any activity in that direction would essentially mean the negation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and would not lead to a sovereign RS, but to its abolition. We call on BiH law enforcement agencies to monitor this activity, which represents an introduction to a serious criminal offense, and to react. We also call on the institutions of the international community to use their mandate and prevent this dangerous activity in time.
We call on Milorad Dodik and the RS authorities to finally support the Declaration on the condemnation of the genocide in Srebrenica, which has been confirmed by the judgment of the International Court of Justice, as well as by numerous individual judgments of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia and the Court of BiH, and which has already been adopted by the European Parliament, the US Congress and Senate, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, as well as the parliaments of many other countries. This action is expected from Dodik, not to deal with the history of 1915 and the relations between Turkey and Armenia. Let him leave those events to the institutions of those countries that are engaged in establishing the truth.
The Main Board analyzed the course of the election process within the Party, which will conclude with the holding of the Sixth Regular SDA Congress on May 26, 2015. It was assessed that the election process is proceeding according to the planned dynamics. A series of decisions related to the preparations for the upcoming Party Congress were adopted.
