Chief inspectors and inspectors of the KUIP wrote to Okerić, Konaković, the KS Government, and representatives: Remove Director Adis Mešić!

(Patria) - More than four-fifths of the Chief inspectors and inspectors of the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs have sent an appeal to several addresses, warning about the actions of KUIP Director Adis Mešić.

In the letter addressed to the Speaker of the KS Assembly Elvedin Okerić, Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Nihad Uk, President of NIP Elmedin Konaković, Minister in the KS Government Adnan Šteta, KS Assembly representative Muamer Bandić, KS Assembly representative Mahir Dević, and the portals Klix and Patria, they state that they are dedicated to protecting the credibility and integrity of KUIP.

„We are addressing you on behalf of more than four-fifths of the Chief inspectors and inspectors of the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, appealing to you to save the institution from the total collapse of its previously achieved reputation and credibility, which we have persistently, dedicatedly, and responsibly worked on. On one hand, within the organization and work environment itself, the general situation is contaminated, chaotic, and alarming. The sole reason for this state is the incompetent and inadequate management of human resources and processes by Director Adis Mešić, who day by day, decision by decision, proves that he was appointed solely due to suitability and not because of his ability.

Namely, since he is our colleague with whom we worked for many years and for whom it was always clear to us that his maximum was a servile attitude towards the Administration's management, his appointment based on the same references did not surprise us. To every reaction of ours and to the question posed: Why does he raise tensions in the work environment and make absurd and illegal decisions that insult the human dignity of employees in inspections, he gives absurd and unsubstantiated answers: Because... they appointed me as director.

A contaminated work environment has been created where no one trusts anyone and anyone can deliver some meanness to another without any responsibility. The director you appointed has surrounded himself with a dozen obedient followers of suspect education and even more dubious professional references, but who unquestioningly carry out his decisions without considering that they are thereby complicit in illegalities“, they state in their letter.

Letter sent to higher addresses

They further claim that the director is prone to filing false reports against employees, based on which he forms cases and compromises those who oppose him with arguments.

„If you appointed him as director of inspections through an unprecedented and absurd competition procedure, which for us is an unprecedented grotesquerie, you surely did not appoint him to trample the human dignity of us inspectors and destroy the reputation of our institution“, they state.

In their address, KUIP employees also remind that there are five criminal charges against Mešić, that the KS Prosecutor's Office determined that Mešić's certificate of work experience contained inaccurate data based on which he was employed at KUIP, and the court permanently removed this certificate from his personnel file.

They further quote part of the information that the Office for the Fight against Corruption submitted to the KS Government on February 19, 2024, regarding Adis Mešić. Also, they state that the protector of Adis Mešić's character and work is NIP President Elmedin Konaković, therefore the letter was also addressed to him.

„Because of all the above, we send you an open appeal and demand from the KS Government urgent action in accordance with the Information from the Office for the Fight against Corruption, to initiate the removal of Director Adis Mešić and to appoint to this position an honorable and capable (not suitable) person of unquestionable integrity and respect, and among us, the authors of this letter, there are certainly such individuals“, it is stated.

Along with the letter, the inspectors also submitted supporting documentation, namely information from the KS Prosecutor's Office submitted to the KS Government, information from the Office for the Fight against Corruption received by the KS Government, notification of the statute of limitations for criminal prosecution of Adis Mešić, and the decision of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo permanently removing the certificate of work experience from the personnel file.
