Glavaš: Tragically deceased Braco lived for football and gladly watched all BiH matches

Vlatko Glavaš, former player and coach of the BiH national team and long-time player for Fortuna Düsseldorf, knew the tragically deceased Ferhet Smailagić, as well as his wife Emira, writes the Patria News Agency.

In a statement to Patria, Glavaš said he was shaken by the news of the death of the Smailagić couple, whom he often saw at national team matches, and also during the time he played for Fortuna.

- At first, I didn't realize it was Ferhet, because everyone knows him by the nickname Braco. He gladly attended matches because he also played football, and he wore my Fortuna jersey. I can't believe he lost his life returning from a football match – says Glavaš, adding that he heard that the Smailagićs were returning from the Barcelona-Real Madrid match, the most important world derby.

An Airbus of the German airline Germanwings crashed yesterday in the remote French Alps, killing all 150 passengers and crew members, including 16 schoolchildren.

- I don't know Smailagić's son, but I express my condolences to him on this occasion – added Glavaš, who also lived in Düsseldorf for many years and still travels there often.
