Generals of BiH Warn NATO Chief: Vučić and Dodik Leading the Region into a New Conflict More Dangerous Than Russian Aggression in Ukraine

(Patria) - The Association of Generals of BiH sent a letter today to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, ahead of his upcoming visit to BiH, regarding current events and attacks on the constitutional and legal order of BiH.

The letter is signed by the President of the Association of Generals of BiH, retired General Rizvo Pleh, and can be read in the text below.

"As NATO Secretary General, you are coming to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the first time. You are coming to the capital of a European country that, for the first time after World War II, was subjected to great war destruction during a siege that lasted 1,425 days, and you are coming in the year marking 80 years since the victory of anti-fascist Europe, of which we are a part, and the world over fascism.

We, the commanders of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proudly participated in the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the victory over fascism, which was organized in 1995 in Paris, France. We were the only army from the former Yugoslavia that was invited.

We remind you that the United Nations court - the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, based in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands, convicted all those other armies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Croatia as parts of a joint criminal enterprise, and also ruled that both the Croatian army and the Serbian army participated in an international armed conflict by attacking our homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We proudly emphasize that we have always stood by Western civilizational values and NATO values. Serbia and the Republika Srpska, for years, even after the UN International Court of Justice rejected their lawsuit against NATO, have been trying in every way, through courts in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, to prosecute the highest NATO officials for the military intervention in BiH and Serbia in 1995 and 1999, an intervention that was humanitarian because its goal was, above all, the protection of innocent civilians.

Political officials in Belgrade still claim today that NATO committed aggression against Serbia, and numerous media outlets in Serbia write about NATO crimes.

We, the generals of the Army of the Republic of BiH, and the generals who emerged from it, proudly emphasize that we, with our Army, were partners of NATO and that we were on the same side with NATO in defending democratic values against fascism in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Balkans.

Fascism that, from 1992 to 1995, committed all the mass crimes known to international humanitarian law, crimes for which the President of Serbia, Slobodan Milošević, was also indicted as the leader of a joint criminal plan.

For those crimes, the commander of the Army of the Republika Srpska, Ratko Mladić, was also convicted. That ideology is continued today by Aleksandar Vučić, the President of Serbia, and the executor is Milorad Dodik, convicted for disregarding the decisions of the High Representative, whose mission is to protect and implement the Dayton Peace Agreement, i.e., the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and who is on the U.S. blacklist.

Aleksandar Vučić and Milorad Dodik are proxies of the Russian Federation in the Balkans, which they do not hide, and they are working on breaking up Bosnia and Herzegovina and seriously undermining regional peace and security in the Balkans, leading this region into a new conflict that could be more dangerous than the Russian aggression in Ukraine.

We expect you to take this seriously. Do not make the mistake that the international community, the European Union, and the United Nations made, underestimating Milošević's willingness to push the former Yugoslavia into war, and then tolerating his policy, turning a blind eye to the destruction of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the horrific crimes of the 'Butcher of the Balkans,' Slobodan Milošević.

We have been and remain with NATO, ready to cooperate with the Alliance to jointly oppose the great-state fascist projects 'packaged' in Putin's 'Russian world' and Vučić's 'Serbian world,' which lead to new conflicts.

We are ready, together with you, the democratic world, but also independently, as we did in 1992, to confront and resist fascism and criminal plans that threaten Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world.

Do not be deceived by various policies, because truth is what always prevails. We want it to be recorded that we informed and warned you about the plans that are being prepared and already being implemented to break up the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that we reminded you that we are ready, as before, to continue the partnership with you.

We welcome you to Bosnia and Herzegovina, to our capital city, where you are always welcome."
