Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque Full of Faithful: Our Best Weapons Are Truth and Patience

(Patria) - A large number of believers performed the Eid prayer this morning at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo, where the central Eid ceremony of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community (IZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held.

The Eid prayer at the Beg Mosque was led and the khutbah delivered by the Reis-ul-ulama of the Islamic Community, Husein-ef. Kavazović.



"The path of the believer is the path of good. In it lies his strength, happiness and satisfaction. Competing in good is the highest level of achieved faith. On the path of good, sacrifice as much as you can and strive that no one surpasses you on that path. It is permissible for a Muslim to envy another Muslim for the good they do, if it will spur him to try to overtake them. The good in us blossoms in the heart, and the fruit is given by the work of our body. Thus our civilization was born, from the heart and soul, in the service of good, peace and happiness," said the Reis-ul-ulama, among other things.

Our best weapons are truth and patience, the Reis-ul-ulama stated, adding that achieving our goals requires work, time and patience.



"Whoever does not count on these three and neglects them will not succeed. And where good does not succeed, evil will triumph. The Almighty said: Allah demands that everyone's right be respected, that good be done and that it be given to relatives, and He forbids debauchery and everything that is abominable and violence: that you may take heed, He advises you. And fulfill the obligations you have undertaken in Allah's name and do not break oaths when you have firmly given them, having taken Allah as your guarantor, for Allah knows what you do. (An-Nahl, 90-91) From these words we understand that we are obliged to support those who advocate for peace, good and justice among people," emphasized Reis-ul-ulama Husein-ef. Kavazović.

An appropriate message in the pre-Eid program was addressed to the present believers by Mr. Dževad Pleh, director of the Gazi Husrev-beg Madrasa in Sarajevo.

"Thirty days of Ramadan and the blessed night of Laylat al-Qadr are now behind us. We spent the days in fasting, the nights in prayer and other acts of worship, aware of the immeasurable spiritual value of Ramadan. Worship was our priority. We guarded our tongue from haram, strengthened sabr, helped others. It seems that the meaning of Ramadan is to be the month of the Quran, of dua, the month of our greatest good," said Pleh, among other things.

The believers expressed joy at the arrival of one of the greatest holidays, emphasizing that they will share the joy of this day with their families and friends.

"There are five of us brothers here today, my father-in-law, my son and my wife. We come here regularly, it's not the first time we've been in Sarajevo for Eid, and today we are also in traditional attire. I wish everyone a happy Eid, I wish us to be healthy, cheerful, to visit each other, love and respect each other," said Halil Ramić from Šeher near Kalesija.

Rijad Velagić also performed the Eid prayer at the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque.

"I am sorry that Ramadan has passed, but we are looking forward to Eid. I will spend the day with my family, friends, in a pleasant atmosphere," he stated.

The Eid prayer was also performed in mosques throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina. After the central Eid ceremony, the traditional Eid greeting at the Reis-ul-ulama will be held today in the Administrative Building of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community.
