FUTSAL EURO Dragons missed the lead and a number of chances, Georgia in the quarterfinals

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The futsal team of Bosnia and Herzegovina was defeated by the Georgian team 2:1 in the second round of the European Championship tonight. The Dragons led after the first half, but the Georgians used the mistakes of our futsal players in the second half to achieve a comeback, which left our team without a chance to advance to the second stage of the competition.

The Dragons missed a plethora of good opportunities in this match; Kupatadze was excellent in goal for Georgia, and in the end, several mistakes proved costly for Ivo Krezo's squad, leading to their defeat. This is the second loss for BiH in this Euro, which leaves us without a chance to qualify for the quarterfinals. BiH still has one match left in the third round of the group stage against Azerbaijan.

From the start of the match, the Georgians played a strong pressing game on our goalkeeper Milanović, knowing how well he plays with his feet, and they truly caused problems for the Dragons in organizing their play at the start. However, as time went on, BiH established greater initiative and took the lead in the 7th minute of the match. Gašpar made a phenomenal run down the left flank and then set up Kahvedžić, who had no difficulty sending the ball into the net from a meter away for a 1:0 lead!

In the 9th minute, Jelić had a good chance after a counter-attack, but the Georgian goalkeeper saved it as the shot was directed towards the center of the goal. Shortly after, Bošković stole a ball and went one-on-one with Kupatadze, but he was stopped... Kupatadze soon distinguished himself again after Aladžić found himself in a one-on-one situation. BiH's missed chances continued with Sesar, who was also incredibly stopped by Kupatadze.

With five minutes left in the first half, goalkeeper Milanović also threatened the Georgians, but Kupatadze made another excellent save. It should also be mentioned that Milanović saved several dangerous shots from the Georgians, and in the 16th minute of the match, Arnautović missed an easy chance, as the goal was practically empty, and he almost missed the ball entirely. Towards the end of the first half, Elisandro suffered an ankle injury and had to leave the field. The teams went into halftime with the Dragons leading 1:0.

Kahvedžić had the first chance in the second half, but he wasn't precise enough, after which Willian shot wide from a free-kick on the other side. The Georgians established initiative in the second half, and the play was mostly in front of BiH's goal, and the Georgians equalized in the 25th minute.

Captain Radmilović made a poor pass, Thales took the ball and sent it into the empty net of the Dragons as Milanović had come out... Arnautović soon had a chance on the other side, but Kupatadze saved brilliantly again. Kahvedžić then had an opportunity, but he shot poorly from just five meters.

Georgia took the lead in the 28th minute through Branco. He received the ball with his back to BiH's goal, turned, got past Arnautović, and then sent the ball into the net for a 1:2 score. After conceding the goal, Ivanković, Kahvedžić, Radmilović, and others tried... but there was no real danger to the Georgian goal.

As time went on, we attacked more and tried to create an overload with the goalkeeper, but our players in the corners were well covered. In the final moments of the match, Kupatadze made a great save on Aladžić's shot, and Georgia managed to secure the victory.
