FUP coordinates with EUROPOL to check social media profiles and unlock phones of terrorism suspects

(Patria) - The Federal Police Administration, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of the Una-Sana Canton and under the supervision of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Una-Sana Canton, has undertaken a series of measures and actions in the case of the terrorist attack on the Bosanska Krupa Police Station, in which one police officer was killed and another wounded.

As announced by the FUP, immediately after the incident, police officers of the Federal Police Administration were included in the work on the said case by the acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Una-Sana Canton.

"On that occasion, operational work was carried out in the field, and certain information and findings regarding the terrorist attack on the Bosanska Krupa Police Station were collected and submitted to the Ministry of Interior of the Una-Sana Canton and the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of the Una-Sana Canton," stated the FUP.

The Federal Police Administration, through international police cooperation, contacted EUROPOL with the aim of collecting useful information regarding the social media profiles used by the minor perpetrator.

"Investigators of the Federal Police Administration, as well as officers of the Forensic Center of the Federal Police Administration, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of the Una-Sana Canton, carried out the official procedure of opening and searching the seized mobile phones used by the minor perpetrator of the criminal offense," added the FUP.

Police officers of the Federal Police Administration conducted an inspection of the social media profiles used by the minor perpetrator in order to document the criminal offense of "Terrorism."

"All relevant data from the social networks used by the suspect have also been obtained, and work is underway to identify persons who were in communication with the suspect," stated the FUP.
