(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina senior national football team will play a friendly match against England in Newcastle on June 3rd.
The match has already been agreed upon, as announced by Vico Zeljković, president of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- This will be a great opportunity for the national team to test their strength against one of the main favorites to win the European Championship. I hope the Dragons will also qualify for the EURO through the playoffs, and that this match will serve as a kind of preparation for us for the tournament of the best European selections in Germany - Zeljković said.
- I would like to thank the FA of England for reaching this agreement. For us, this is a great honor and privilege. I hope the match in the cradle of football will be a huge motivation for our players - he added.
The match in Newcastle will be the first encounter between BiH and England.
England will play in Group C at the EURO with Slovenia, Denmark, and Serbia.
On March 21st, the Dragons expect a playoff semi-final match for the EURO against Ukraine at Bilino Polje. The team that wins that match will face Iceland or Israel in the playoff final on home turf. The winner of the mini-tournament will qualify for Germany and play in Group E against Belgium, Slovakia, and Romania.
