Football millionaires: Mbappé most expensive, even though the best Modrić isn't among the top hundred

(Patria) - According to research conducted by the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), there are currently 27 players in world football whose value is one hundred million euros or more. Of course, they all play in the top five European leagues.

There are the most in the English Premier League, as many as 16 (Kane, Sterling, Salah, Lukaku, Sané, Alli, Firmino, Mané, Jesus, Silva, Pogba, Hazard, Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Laporte, Ederson), in Spain 5 (Messi, Coutinho, Griezmann, Dembélé, Suárez), in Italy 3 (Dybala, Ronaldo, Insigne), in France 2 (Mbappé, Neymar) and in Germany 1 (Sancho).

Strangely, among these players is not Luka Modrić, whose price is 17.4 million euros, despite the recognition that he was named the best player on the planet last year. Luka is not even among the hundred most valuable players in the world. 

The highest price goes to Kylian Mbappé, a PSG player. He is valued at 218.5 million euros. He already has one record-breaking contract when he moved from Monaco to PSG for 180 million euros. Mbappé played one of the key roles at the World Cup in Russia, where he led the French to the world title with four goals.
