Football Club Sarajevo is for the continuation of the competition

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The current champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina, currently the leading team in the standings and the winner of the double crown in the 2018/19 season - Football Club Sarajevo, informs fans and the public that the Club is wholeheartedly in favor of continuing the competitive season within the suggested timelines by the Football Association of BiH.

At the meeting held yesterday, May 14, a completed questionnaire was submitted to the N/FS BiH, with an affirmative answer to the question "Are you in favor of continuing the 2019/20 competitive season?".

Sarajevo agrees with the continuation of the championship exclusively according to the existing competition format, starting no later than June 6/7, 2020. The championship would thus end no later than July 20, and the teams would have enough time for rest and preparation for the start of the European season, according to the club.

In order to maximally protect players, coaching staff, and other participants, the medical team has suggested a series of points that must be fulfilled, which align with the previously submitted instructions from the N/FS BiH.

In the event that the necessary conditions for the continuation of the championship are not met, the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the institution that will make the final decision. Considering that 2/3 of the championship has been completed (all teams played each other twice), the official position of the Club is that the current standings should be verified as final, and that the first-placed team should be declared champion.

Also, Football Club Sarajevo informs the public that it will use legally permitted means to protect itself from statements by individuals who disseminate false information to the public regarding the Club's operations and decisions.
