Bosnia and Herzegovina Women's Football Team Defeated by Kazakhstan in Zenica

ZENICA, (Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina Women's A national team was defeated today at the NS/FS BiH Training Centre in Zenica by Kazakhstan with a score of 0:2 in a qualifying match for the 2019 World Cup.

Lidija Kuliš had the first chance in the 4th minute when she shot from the edge of the penalty area, but the ball went wide of the goal.

Mejrema Medić, after a pass from Kuliš in the 17th minute, managed to create a shooting position from an angle on the left side of the opponent's penalty area, but she did not hit the ball in the best way and it ended up in the hands of Kazakhstan's goalkeeper Oksana Zheleniyak.

The guests took the lead in the 33rd minute. Kamila Kulmagambetova took a free kick from the left side, and Amira Spahić scored an own goal with her head from the five-yard box for 0:1.

In the second half, the BiH team had a slight territorial initiative and more possession of the ball, but without real chances to score. Only in the 69th minute did Milena Nikolić advance towards the Kazakh goal, but Zhelenyak rushed out of her goal in time and successfully intervened.

Kazakhstan doubled their lead in the 74th minute when Yekaterina Babshuk sent the ball into Envera Hasanbegović's net with a lob shot from about 25 meters.

The BiH Women's national team will conclude their World Cup qualifiers on September 4th when they will play away against Russia.
