Željezničar footballers open new season with win against GOŠK

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The new season in the football Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina has begun.

Željezničar started the new season with an away win against GOŠK. It was 0:1. The match was played at the Perica Pavlović stadium in sweltering and difficult playing conditions, with around 2,000 spectators in the stands.

The guests' coach Krčmarević found himself in a problem before the match even started. Stevanović got injured, so experienced Bogičević got the chance to play from the first minute instead. Incidentally, in this match, as many as six new players made their Premier League debut for the team from Sarajevo: Pavić, Čurjurić, Bakrač, Krpić, Arežina and Rodin.

In the first half, a rather uninteresting match with very few excitements. The guests threatened first, in the 16th minute Zajmović broke through nicely, but shot high over the goal. The Gabela team threatened in the 23rd minute with a nice attempt by Kulović, but Kjosevski was in position.

In the last 10 minutes or so, the Sarajevo Blues threatened twice. First, in the 36th minute, Bakrač headed over the goal after a cross from Čurjurić, and then in stoppage time, Arežina's shot from about 20 meters, on the second attempt, was tamed by Kozić.

Željo started the second half much more aggressively and concretely. In the 48th minute, Zajmović, who had moved to the right wing, was selfish and shot straight at Kozić, and then substitute Vranješ and Arežina threatened Kozić with a long-range free kick.

This was followed by a period of better play from the Lions, who threatened from set pieces through Vega, but there wasn't too much work for Kjosevski.

Željezničar took the lead in the 75th minute. Čurjurić sent a clever cross from the left side, and at the far post was substitute Zec, who sent the ball behind Kozić's back.

After conceding the goal, the home team went in search of an equalizer, threatening from set pieces, but the score did not change, so it remained 0:1.

In addition to this match, two more were played today. Krupa was better than Čelik at home with 3:1, while Mladost and the new Premier League team Zvijezda 09 played a 0:0 draw.
