
SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Federal Civil Protection Administration (FUCZ) today (March 28) put into operation two aircraft (gyrocopters) which will, as needed, transport tests and samples of persons tested for coronavirus (COVID-19) from remote cities and towns in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) to Sarajevo, Mostar or Tuzla. As previously planned, today an FUCZ aircraft delivered a certain number of tests, swabs, or transport media to Bihać, which they need to collect samples, and then it delivered ten samples from patients in the Una-Sana Canton, who are suspected of being positive for coronavirus, to the reference laboratory at the University Clinical Center in Sarajevo.
Based on the order of the FScZ, members of the Federal Civil Protection Administration started delivering 20,000 coronavirus tests today, which, by order of the FScZ, are intended for the University Clinical Center in Sarajevo (8,000 units), the General Hospital "Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš" (4,000), the University Clinical Center Tuzla (4,000), and the University Clinical Hospital Mostar (4,000). These tests were procured with the prior consent of the FBiH Government and in accordance with the FScZ Decision, and yesterday 1,000 were delivered to the University Clinical Center in Sarajevo (KCUS) and 500 to the University Clinical Hospital Mostar (SKBM).
According to the same order, the FUCZ began distributing transport media and swabs to public health institutes in the Federation of BiH, namely: the Public Health Institute of Posavina Canton, Orašje (300 units), the Public Health Institute of USK, Bihać (900 units), the Institute for Health and Safety of Food Zenica - Public Health Institute of Zenica-Doboj Canton (1,200 units), the Public Health Institute of Tuzla Canton (1,500 units), the Public Health Institute of BPK-Goražde (300 units), the Public Health Institute of SBK Travnik (900 units), the Public Health Institute of HBZ, Canton 10, Livno (300 units), the Public Health Institute of HNK, Mostar (1,500 units), the Public Health Institute of West Herzegovina Canton (600 units), and the Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton (1,500 units).
This engagement by the Federal Civil Protection Administration will significantly speed up the testing process for citizens in the Federation of BiH, especially in the Una-Sana Canton, and ensure the necessary medical equipment for the Cantonal Hospital in Bihać in a faster and easier way.
