French thrash Macedonians at the start of the European Handball Championship

(Patria) - The European Handball Championship started tonight with a duel between France and Macedonia, played in the packed Merkur-Spiel Arena in Dusseldorf.

The French are considered the third favorites of the championship, and tonight they left nothing to chance, celebrating a convincing 39:29 victory over North Macedonia.

The best for France were Hugo Descat with seven, Dylan Nahi with six, and Dika Mem with five goals, reports SCsport.ba.

Descat was chosen as the best player of the match, with a perfect shooting record of 7 out of 7.

The most effective player for North Macedonia was pivot Žarko Peševski with seven goals.

In the next round, France will play against Switzerland, and North Macedonia will face the hosts, Germany.
