France new world champion in football!

MOSCOW, (Patria) - The French national football team is the new world champion, after defeating Croatia 4:2 in the World Cup final in Moscow before 86,000 spectators at the Luzhniki Stadium.

Croatia opens the match better. In the first ten minutes, the French could not get hold of the ball, while on the other side Croatia had several excellent breakthroughs via Perišić and Vrsaljko and an attempt by Rebić, but the Tricolore defence was up to the task.

Nevertheless, the French score first. It was the 18th minute when Griezmann crossed from a set piece, and Mandžukić headed into his own net. In the 28th minute, after a good move, Croatia equalised, with Ivan Perišić shooting brilliantly and scoring.

In the 39th minute, the ball hit Perišić's hand, and after a VAR review, referee Pitanna pointed to the spot. A reliable taker for France's new 2-1 lead was Griezmann, and that was also the score at half-time.

In the second half, the French threaten first through Griezmann in the 46th minute, but Subašić saves his shot. A minute later, Rebić tries on the other side, but Lloris makes a great save.

In the 60th minute, Pogba with a fine shot puts France ahead 3-1, and six minutes later Mbappé makes it 4-1. In the 69th minute, Lloris concedes a comical goal. He tried to dribble past Mandžukić, but the Croatian centre-forward was concentrated and managed to reduce the deficit to 4-2.

After Mandžukić's goal, a chance for Kramarić, but Umtiti blocked his shot. Until the end of the match, a few more half-chances on both sides, but it remained 4-2 and the Tricolore succeeded the Germans at the top of the world.
