(Patria) - The Srebrenica Memorial Center announced this morning on X that the Republic of France is one of the co-sponsors of the Srebrenica Resolution that the UN General Assembly will consider at the beginning of May.
In its message, the Memorial Center thanked President Emmanuel Macron, the French Mission to the UN, and the friendly people of France. They also published a part of Macron's statement on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the genocide.
"France remembers and will always remember the suffering your country experienced 25 years ago, in the darkest moments Europe has seen since the end of World War II. On July 11, 1995, and in the days that followed, one of the worst tragedies in modern history occurred here in Srebrenica, in Bosnia and Herzegovina. France has not forgotten the more than 8,000 victims, adults and children, who were killed," Macron said at the time.

Serbia and Republika Srpska have announced that they will do everything to prevent the adoption of the resolution. Vučić himself visited France this week, where he met with Macron.
The resolution establishes July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance of the Genocide in Srebrenica.
