PHOTO: BH bathing spots as an additional opportunity for domestic tourism after COVID-19

(Patria) - Amid the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disrupted all branches of the economy, especially tourism, the agency WEB Studio, together with the Tourism Studies of the „University of Džemal Bijedić“,
announced the launch of the project „Experience the Beauty of BH Bathing Spots“, which aims to popularize local bathing spots, encourage the BH population towards domestic tourism, and contribute to the development of the tourist offer after Corona.

Turning the BH population towards domestic tourism

The goal of the project „Experience the Beauty of BH Bathing Spots“ is to map the undiscovered tourist potentials of Bosnia and Herzegovina – rivers, lakes and their shores, and to popularize them and create a new tourist offer.

„The project will popularize this type of tourist offer, which will be presented on the internet and social networks, and enable the public to view beaches on beautiful rivers and lakes in our homeland. We invite all enthusiasts in BiH to join us in mapping locations and tourist offers, and to provide support in promoting our country.“ – said Adi Đukić, on behalf of the digital marketing agency “WEB Studio” which developed the idea and initiated the project.

The second goal of the project is to encourage the BH population to visit domestic destinations and turn towards domestic tourism. Besides BH tourists, this offer will certainly be interesting to many foreign tourists in the future, once the situation in the world stabilizes.

After the pandemic, tourists will crave clean nature

It is expected that after the pandemic passes, tourists will crave smaller, untouched and 'healthy' destinations, as well as active holidays in them, which represents a great opportunity for BiH, which is full of natural attractions and clean waters. River and lake beaches and bathing spots are becoming increasingly attractive to tourists worldwide. Even in many tourist destinations that have a sea, some of the most interesting beaches are far from the coast.

In places along rivers and lakes, tourists come for relaxation, peace or an active holiday in nature with rafting, kayaking, fishing, camping and cycling.

A lure for foreign tourists and an opportunity for tourism development

Numerous individual tourists around the world are increasingly seeking nature and untouched places, of which Bosnia and Herzegovina is full. The most beautiful bathing spots and hidden places by the water are precisely on our rivers and lakes.

It is expected that the project will encourage local communities to invest additional efforts in branding their areas. Consequently, opportunities will be created for longer tourist stays in the country, as well as new jobs for tourism workers and related activities such as catering, accommodation, trade, etc. The relevant institutions are invited to join the idea of developing BH bathing spots and provide support to the project so that, despite gloomy forecasts, the future of BH tourism is bright.
