Forto invited directors of BHRT and RTV FBiH: Agreement on distribution of funds from EPBiH accounts to be signed in the coming days

(Patria) - At the initiative of the Minister of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, a working meeting was held today at the Ministry premises with the directors of BHRT and RTV FBiH, Belmin Karamehmedović and Džemal Šabić, in order to overcome the situation that public broadcasters have been in for the last 15 years.

As Minister Forto pointed out, an agreement will be signed in the coming days that will resolve the issue of distributing the collected funds from the Elektroprivreda BiH accounts, in order to pay salaries to the employees of both media houses.

The directors supported Minister Forto's efforts and gave their consent to sign the said agreement, which would prevent further damage to these companies.

"We are on the way to finding an option to distribute the funds from the RTV fee from the Elektroprivreda BiH accounts, even if it is temporary. As for BHRT, we will do our best to be part of the solution, not part of the problem," said Director Karamehmedović.

Director Šabić thanked all parties for their efforts, especially the Ministry, in order to resolve this problem as soon as possible to the satisfaction of all employees in the public service broadcaster.
