Forto responds to DF: You are politicising the case, we have nothing to do with it, Arena beat BHRT at the auction

(Patria) - Responding to a question about the Democratic Front's demand for his resignation because matches of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team at the World Cup will not be broadcast on BHRT, the minister in the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Edin Forto, said that this is a politicisation of an issue that, as he stated, is separate from the problems facing the public broadcaster.

- The issue of BHRT is important and we are still trying to create a political consensus to help BHRT, and the amendment to the law that would resolve stable financing for BHRT is in procedure. But this issue is completely separate from the problems facing BHRT - said Forto.

He emphasised that the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, have nothing to do with the operational decisions of the BHRT management regarding the auction for acquiring television rights.

- BHRT participated in the auction for acquiring rights and offered three million KM, or 1.5 million euros, for the rights for our national team, but another company, in this case Arena Sport, with its bid for the entire region won the auction organised by FIFA. What do we have to do with that? - said Forto.

He added that this is a day-to-day political approach to a topic that, as he said, should be a reason for joint support for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.
