Forto: There is no will to help BHRT, Konaković said 'it's not time yet to discuss SIPA'

(Patria) – After the session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Minister of Transport and Communications of BiH Edin Forto gave a statement in which he expressed disappointment due to the lack of concrete assistance to BHRT, emphasizing that this institution has been in a serious crisis for a long time.

„The crisis at BHRT is nothing new. They are currently blocked due to lawsuits from workers who have not had contributions paid for years. Unfortunately, I did not manage to get concrete solutions, I only received a series of technical explanations. What is clear is that there is no political will to help BHRT, and for that reason I am deeply disappointed,“ said Forto.

The session also considered a point submitted by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the 'Viadukt case', and additional information was requested about other arbitration processes.

However, as Forto stated, due to the opposition of ministers from the RS entity, it was not possible to adopt conclusions.

„We did not adopt the strategic document for BH Post either. Bosnia and Herzegovina is the only country in the region that does not have a strategy for the postal sector. And that tells you about the work of the Council of Ministers – a lack of will to open important issues and initiate necessary reforms,“ concluded Minister Forto.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Elmedin Konaković also addressed the press after the session, referring to the issue of personnel changes in the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).

„SIPA was not a topic of discussion today. We are not yet ready for that discussion, because we must be sure that those who come will respect the law and professionally perform their duties“, said Konaković.
