(Patria) - At the Bosanska Gradiška border crossing, on the border with Croatia and the European Union, alongside the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the flag of the smaller BiH entity is also displayed, but of much larger dimensions and on a higher flagpole, says delegate (SBiH) Džemal Smajić, emphasizing that Article 18 of the Law on Border Control clearly stipulates which flags can and cannot be placed in the border area of BiH.
In the same law, he adds, it is stated that the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH maintains markings and other traffic signage at the border crossing and its area.
“Minister Edin Forto, who heads the mentioned ministry, is knowingly violating the Law by allowing the flags of the smaller BiH entity to fly above the state flag.
I will remind you that last year I submitted an initiative and requested the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH to remove all signs and markings that are not state-related from the border area within 30 days.
Minister Forto is ignoring this important issue and has not taken any measures or actions to prevent the desecration of the state border. This is just one of a series of failures by Forto and his coalition partners, undermining the reputation and dignity of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens,” says Smajić.
