(Patria) - The Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation (BHFF) celebrates ten years of existence and dedicated work in empowering youth through education, science, technology, and leadership to become competitive in the global market.
The Foundation was established in December 2015 by successful engineers and businessmen, brothers Edhem Eddie and Rešad Čustović, to provide support to high school and university students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and IT fields through a scholarship program.
The Foundation's mission is to empower young people in BiH through education, technology, and leadership, who will be the drivers of positive change in our country. One of the Foundation's greatest strengths is building bridges between knowledge in the homeland and the expertise of our diaspora. In this way, students are given a unique opportunity to learn from those who have achieved great careers around the world, but still carry their hearts in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"In ten years of existence, we have brought together hundreds of top Bosnian-Herzegovinian experts from over 30 countries worldwide, and more than 3,500 young people have participated in our events. Knowledge is our most valuable currency, scattered around the world, but it belongs to all of us. When the energy of the homeland's youth meets the experience of our global community – that's when miracles begin to happen," says Edhem Eddie Čustović.
The Foundation's programs enable high school and university students to discover their interests and potentials early on, and to explore and build them in a safe environment – without fear of failure. For them personally, this means a better, more fulfilling life, and for Bosnian-Herzegovinian society as a whole, it means world-class experts and a better economy.
The anniversary celebration will be crowned with a spectacle – the largest youth conference in the region, the Futures Leaders Summit, which will be held from December 19th to 21st in Sarajevo.
"This will be our biggest youth conference ever, and one of the largest gatherings for young people in the Western Balkans, with over 500 participants. During those few days at the conference, there is incredible energy – world knowledge available to everyone, friendships are made, bridges are built, and new generations of young leaders from various fields are born," says Edhem Eddie Čustović.
