Future of Sport Foundation begins operations, help young athletes too

The "Future of Sport" association, with the support of the Basketball Federation of BiH, was founded with the aim of providing better conditions for young, talented male and female athletes in BiH to work and progress, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

As Harun Mahmutović, Secretary General of the BiH Basketball Federation, previously told Patria, the idea for establishing such an association has existed for some time, and the latest events concerning the cadet basketball team of BiH and the financial problems they faced during the European Championship in Lithuania were the last straw, and it was decided to take action.

We remind you that the now golden cadets were threatened with expulsion from the competition due to an unpaid participation fee of 10,000 euros, and the money was provided by the company FIS Vitez, and before the departure, by the company Bosnalijek.

- We will not give up on efforts to find systemic solutions in BiH that will ensure continuous financing of sports. We want a stable and strong sports community where young athletes can progress, have full and equal access to opportunities, and ensure the achievement of their full potential. By providing scholarships, equipment, and conditions for adequate training, we want to help young people continue to achieve success. Support us - they say from the Association.

Legendary basketball coach Bogdan Tanjević also gave his support to the Association.
