Fund Calls for Applications: Support for Persons with Disabilities Amounting to 8.7 Million KM

(Patria) - The Fund for Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has announced a new public call for the allocation of funds intended to strengthen the employment of persons with disabilities. The call was published at the end of February 2026 and relates to several program lines of support through which a total of 8.7 million convertible marks will be distributed.

Business entities, sheltered workshops, as well as persons with disabilities who are self-employed or employed in organizations of persons with disabilities are eligible to participate.

The goal of the public call is to preserve existing jobs, develop sustainable employment models, and further strengthen the economic position of persons with disabilities in the Federation of BiH.

The Director of the Fund, Ahmet Baljić, emphasizes that the new programs aim to send a clear message that the labor market must be accessible to everyone.

"The employment of persons with disabilities is not just a matter of social policy, but also a matter of economic development. When we enable people to work and develop their potential, we build a stronger and fairer society," said Baljić.

Support Programs Focused on Employment Stability

The Fund's public call includes several different support programs, designed to address various needs, from professional rehabilitation to preserving existing jobs.

A special focus of this year's call is placed on the sustainability of employment for persons with disabilities, especially in cases where persons with disabilities are self-employed or employed in organizations that represent their interests.

"It is important not only to create new jobs but also to ensure the stability of existing ones. Sustainable employment means security for persons with disabilities and long-term integration into the labor market," Baljić points out.

Lot 4 – Support for the Sustainability of Self-Employment

One of the important segments of the public call is Lot IV, which is intended for financing and co-financing programs for the sustainability of employment of persons with disabilities who are self-employed or engaged in agricultural activities as their primary occupation, including persons employed in accordance with Article 56, paragraphs 2 and 3 of the Law.

A total of 2,400,000 convertible marks are planned for the implementation of this program, through which the Fund aims to provide support to persons with disabilities who have decided to build their existence through their own work and entrepreneurial initiative.

This type of program is particularly significant because it enables persons with disabilities who have already started their own businesses to maintain business stability and continue developing their activities.

"Self-employment requires great dedication and responsibility. Through this type of support, we want to help persons with disabilities maintain the stability of their businesses and continue to build their economic independence," said Baljić.

Lot 5 – Support for Employment in Organizations of Persons with Disabilities

The public call also includes Lot V, which is focused on financing and co-financing programs for the sustainability of employment of persons with disabilities employed in organizations of persons with disabilities. A total of 180,000 convertible marks are planned for the implementation of this program.

Organizations of persons with disabilities play an important role in society as they provide support to their members, advocate for their rights, and implement projects that contribute to improving their position.

"Organizations of persons with disabilities are often the first support for many people. Support for employees in these organizations also means strengthening the entire support network for persons with disabilities in society," emphasized the Director of the Fund.

Through this program, the Fund aims to contribute to the stability of jobs within organizations that work daily to improve the position of persons with disabilities.

An Opportunity to Preserve Jobs

By combining financial support with a planned approach to developing an inclusive labor market, the Fund continues to build an environment where persons with disabilities have real opportunities for work, development, and economic security.

The public call remains open for 30 days, and all information regarding the conditions and application process is available on the official website of the Fund.
