SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Football Club Sarajevo will play the third round qualifying match of the Europa League on August 8, and their opponent will be known after the conclusion of the two-leg tie between Bate Borisov – Rosenborg.
Given that the Olympic Stadium Asim Ferhatović Hase meets Category 2 requirements, the match cannot be played in Sarajevo. Instead, the encounter will be held at Bilino Polje in Zenica, as announced by the club in burgundy.
"The announced works on the pitch and other necessary investments by the responsible parties at the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium before the BiH national team's match against Italy did not happen, which resulted in the upcoming 3rd round qualifying match of the Europa League having to be played at Bilino Polje. The Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium is owned by the Centar Municipality, and the fact that the owner is not Football Club Sarajevo represents a stumbling block for the necessary investment in the stadium," announced FK Sarajevo.
Football Club Sarajevo "hopes that this technical circumstance, which was not influenced by the club, will not prevent loyal fans from supporting their club in the match that will be played in Zenica. In this regard, FK Sarajevo will strive to provide its fans with everything within the club's power for comfort and viewing of the match at the Zenica stadium."
