(Patria) - Last year's host of the World Alpine Skiing Championships, Austrian Saalbach, hosted the finalists of the FIS Europa Cup in speed disciplines this year.
Today, a downhill race is scheduled, and a day later, Super-G for women and men.
The best Bosnian-Herzegovinian alpine skier, Elvedina Muzaferija, will compete in the downhill race with start number 16.
Due to the demanding schedule of the FIS World Cup and the Winter Olympic Games held in Italy in February, as well as an injury that affected the very end of her competition, Muzaferija has competed in one downhill race in the FIS Europa Cup this season.
That was in mid-January in Pass Thurn, when she won sixth place and 40 points.
Just before the Olympics, she also competed in one Super-G race in this competition category, finishing sixteenth in the Italian ski resort of Sarntal.
Muzaferija is the first BiH alpine skier to win a medal at the FIS Europa Cup – a silver medal in the downhill discipline in 2023, followed by gold medals in the downhill and Super-G disciplines in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
The final FIS Europa Cup downhill race for women in Saalbach will start at 10:10 AM.
