FIFA fines Football Federation of BiH with EUR 215,000

(Patria) - The Football Federation (FS) of BiH faces serious financial consequences after the world football governing body (FIFA) decided on sanctions due to incidents at the November World Cup qualifying matches.

FIFA has imposed a total fine of EUR 215,000 on the FSBiH, related to the matches against Romania in Zenica and Austria in Vienna, reports N1.

FSBiH was fined EUR 65,000 for the match against Romania.

In its explanation, FIFA pointed out several violations, including improper fan conduct, racist outbursts, as well as serious organizational and security lapses during the match.

Among the cited reasons are the use of pyrotechnics, disturbances during the anthems, and insufficient control in the stands.

FSBiH will have to pay a significantly larger amount due to the events during the away match in Austria. A fine of EUR 150,000 was imposed for the match in Vienna.

FIFA emphasized security lapses and the use of pyrotechnic devices as key reasons for such a high sanction.

The total fine represents one of the largest financial blows to FSBiH in recent years.

This decision clearly shows that any organizational or behavioral lapse in the stands will be strictly punished in the future, and FSBiH will have to take additional measures to prevent similar situations from happening again.
