FERK to meet on Wednesday: Higher electricity bills only in cantons with Bosniak majority

(Patria) - The Regulatory Commission for Energy in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FERK) will consider the proposal for an electricity price increase for Elektroprivreda BiH users on Wednesday, July 23.

If this decision is made, the price of electricity will increase only in cantons with a Bosniak majority in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes Istraga.ba on its X platform.

The General Director of Elektroprivreda BiH, Sanel Buljubašić, says that the tariff procedure initiated by the company is now before FERK.

- We are waiting for the FERK session to see what decision they will make. In any case, we will respect whatever they decide. We have not changed the methodology because we still believe it has yielded certain results in RS and Serbia.

Perhaps it would not be a bad idea to consider a unified model for all three power utilities in the future, so that we have a unified electricity price, but that is still open for discussion - said Buljubašić, writes Faktor.

We remind you that Elektroprivreda BiH proposed that the price of electricity be increased according to block tariffs, i.e., blue, green, and red bills.

The estimated average increase for the so-called green bills is 4.8 percent, blue 6.3 percent, and red 8.0 percent.

If FERK adopts the decision to increase, citizens will pay higher electricity bills starting from September 1.
