Phenomenal Edin Džeko is carrying his Manchester City towards the English championship title, but our striker is still down to earth, reports the BH News Agency Patria (NAP). After last night's heroic performance and two goals against Aston Villa, which unlocked the door to the trophy, Džeko told the island media that it's still not all over.
Džeko stated that he hopes they won't experience the drama from 2012 in the last round, when City needs at least a draw against West Ham, when they won the title literally in the last seconds.
- We have experience from just a few days ago. Back then, everyone thought we would easily beat QPR. It was what it was, but now we have to approach the last match differently, try to resolve it as early as possible – Džeko said after the 4-0 victory.
Our striker broke through Villa's tough defense in just eight minutes, in the second half when the match was being decided, after which City filled the visitors' net to the brim. His performance last night received excellent reviews from the otherwise very reserved British media, who point out that Džeko has scored title-winning goals for City for the second time in history.
His performances in the most important matches at the end of the season, the media claim, have fully justified the trust Pellegrini placed in him, as well as the money invested in our striker, reports NAP.
