(Patria) - An emergency session of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH, whose only announced agenda item concerns the Nova Željezara Zenica plant, has been called for Monday, 8 June, starting at 12:00.
The agenda item is titled Proposal of the Law on the Procedure of Emergency Administration in the Company Nova Željezara Zenica d.o.o. Zenica of Special Systemic Importance for the Federation of BiH.
The proposer of this law is the Government of the Federation of BiH, which submitted it to the parliamentary procedure under an urgent procedure.
Federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić yesterday, during a meeting in Sarajevo with representatives of the Nova Željezara Zenica union and the metalworkers' unions of ZDK and FBiH, announced that both houses of the Federal Parliament should convene regarding the said law at the beginning of next week.
The House of Peoples, unlike the House of Representatives, had not announced such a session on its official website as of the time of this news report.
At yesterday's meeting with union representatives, which was also attended by Federal Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Vedran Lakić, it was stated that the proposed law is of special systemic importance for FBiH, with the aim of protecting jobs, preserving domestic industry, and ensuring the stability of the FBiH economic system.
According to a statement from the FBiH Government's Public Relations Office, the proposed law is an urgent and judicially controlled mechanism that prevents uncontrolled bankruptcy and the closure of the company.
