BIHAĆ, (Patria) - Residents of the Bihać settlements of Zavalja, Vučjak and surrounding areas gathered today in protests and by signing a petition said they are dissatisfied with the decision of the Bihać City Council to relocate migrants and refugees from the city centre to the Vučjak location.
As reasons, they cited security and ecology.
The Mayor of Bihać said he understands the residents regarding everything.
"This is what happens to you when solving a huge state problem falls on the shoulders of a small local community. How to convince people of something like this, how to guarantee them safety, when for the most part I am not even for it. I am forced to do something, or better said, left in an almost hopeless situation. I constantly warn that the Council of Ministers must take responsibility, so that the problem does not escalate. Simply, I am forced to act in the general interest of the city, and that is why we are trying to do something with this location, because it is already on the migrant route to the European Union. What would it be like if the City Council and I did nothing?", asks Mayor Fazlić.
