(Patria) - The twenty-three-year-old striker, Faris Zubanović, is the new player for Željezničar. Zubanović returns to Grbavica from Austrian side Kapfenberg, and has signed a contract until the summer of 2025.
Faris Zubanović was born on June 12, 2000, in Sarajevo. He went through all of Željezničar's youth selections, and in the 2018/2019 season, he also made his debut in the Blues' jersey. In the same season, he was the top junior scorer in the Premier League of BiH.
After that, he played for Danish Fremad, Turkish Tuzlaspor, Mostar's Velež, Slovenian Bilje and Fužinar, and in Austria for Vorwats and Kapfenberg, from which he is returning to Grbavica. Zubanović is a former BiH junior and U21 national team player, and at Željo he will strengthen the competition in attack.
"I knew I would return to Grbavica, it was just a matter of when. I think now is the right time, that's how I feel, it's nice to be home. I certainly have good experience behind me from all these years I was away. I know I belong here," said Zubanović.
Zubanović is the son of former Željo player Hadis Zubanović.
