European night at Koševo ends in defeat - Sarajevo eliminated by Torpedo on penalties!

(Patria) - Football Club Sarajevo hosted Georgian Torpedo from Kutaisi at the Koševo stadium tonight. After 90 minutes, the score was 1:1, and in extra time, neither team scored, so penalties decided the winner and the team advancing to the second qualifying round of the Conference League. Unfortunately, that team was the Georgian side.

The match at Koševo began with a minute of silence for the legendary Sarajevo footballer Vahidin Musemić. Although fierce attacks from the home team were expected at the start of the match, Torpedo appeared more dangerous. In the fifth minute, Bugridze ran alone down the right flank towards Šahinović, who saved brilliantly and in a way thanked coach Mirza Varešanović for giving him a chance tonight over Rogić, who played in Georgia.

After Sarajevo took the lead, almost no serious chances were seen in front of either goal until the end of the first half. Only in the 45th minute was there excitement, and that was in front of Torpedo's goal. First, Oliveira was blocked, and then Kyeremeh headed wide after a cross from Ziljkić.

As expected, the Georgians played more openly in the second half and attacked Sarajevo's goal more as time went on.

Jelić-Balta shot from distance in the 59th minute but was inaccurate, and in the 64th minute, a great chance for Torpedo. Zeljković cleared in front of Pantuslai at the last moment.

Vrančić did everything well and shot powerfully from about 17 meters, and the ball grazed the crossbar, and the visitors were very lucky in that situation. In the 72nd minute, Dal Varešanović tried from distance, but he was also inaccurate.

Shortly after, Renan Oliveira came very close to scoring. He shot from an angle on the left flank while running, and Kljajić managed to save with great difficulty. In the 80th minute, a nice move by the home team on the right flank, and Kyeremeh ended up shooting over the goal. And when it seemed like the BiH team would finish the job, just as the end was approaching, the Georgians equalized from a set-piece. A free-kick was taken from an angle on the left, and Gigauri headed the ball into Šahinović's net.

Thus, Sarajevo turned a sure win into a loss, and had to play another half hour. A fierce battle ensued in extra time, and Kyeremeh had the best chance in the 113th minute, but the ball ultimately went just wide of the goal.

As there were no changes, the match proceeded to penalties. This is often called a lottery, and this time the team from Georgia had more luck.

Right at the start, Ikić missed a penalty, the Georgians scored and took the lead in the first series. The second taker was Čataković, who was sure. Torpedo also converted their second penalty, Šahinović was helpless after the shot. Avramovski took the third, and confidently hammered the ball into the net. But, to Sarajevo's misfortune, the Georgians were accurate with their penalties, so Torpedo led 3:2 after the third series. Beganović missed in the fourth series, and that was it...
