(Patria) - After a mass was interrupted and a priest appointed by the Diocese of Mostar-Duvno was prevented from entering last Sunday in Donji Gradac near Široki Brijeg, a similar incident occurred yesterday at the Divojka cemetery in Dobrič.
According to locals, a small number of believers who support the arrival of diocesan clergy gathered at the aforementioned cemetery yesterday.
According to the gathered parishioners, the parish priest from Polog, Don Miljenko Krešić, along with a few of his supporters, including MEP Željana Zovko, was turned away from the cemetery by parishioners and the local cemetery committee.
Due to the inability to hold mass inside the cemetery, the religious ceremony was ultimately held on private land in the immediate vicinity of the cemetery.
Last Sunday, the police also intervened in Donji Gradac, and the mass was also held outside the cemetery, writes the portal Mostar danas.
According to available information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of West Herzegovina Canton was also informed of both incidents, as public order was disturbed and the holding of religious services was prevented.
Let us remind you, the event is related to a long-standing dispute over the division of certain parishes between Franciscans and diocesan priests, while in some of them, locals refuse to accept the arrival of diocesan priests after the parishes were previously led by Franciscans for years.
Watch the discussion with the gathered locals by MEP from Dobrič, Željana Zovko, in the video below, who said on that occasion: "... I have to be in fear in Sarajevo, I have to be in fear here".
