EU must not stop funding of justice in BiH

The Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina calls on representatives of the European Union not to stop the much-needed funding of judicial institutions through IPA programs, as a halt in funding would mean a direct blow to the functioning of justice in the country, especially in the area of prosecuting war crimes.

-We know that this is a result of the fact that RS does not want the Appellate Court of BiH and does not want to adopt the Strategy for Judicial Reform. However, by suspending funding for the judiciary, those who obstruct the process are not punished, but rather action is taken in accordance with their interests and the policies advocated by the ruling majority in RS.

I think the state must send a message that it will not tolerate blockades of this kind, but the international community must support state policies and those who genuinely advocate for the process of European integration, said Amer Jerlagić, president of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
