Ashton: EU will benefit citizens in BiH

I am returning to Sarajevo to meet with leaders of institutions and civil society and to hear their views on the situation in the country and ways to find solutions to the citizens' demands, particularly regarding economic and social issues. It is important for the leadership of Bosnia and Herzegovina to respond to their demands, and the European Union will help efforts that will truly benefit the citizens of BiH, said Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, ahead of her visit to BiH.

She will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday, March 12. She will meet with representatives of BiH institutions and civil society to discuss the current situation in the country, in light of the discussions of the member states in the coming weeks.

The High Representative will meet with members of the BiH Presidency, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers and entity prime ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, and representatives of civil society in Sarajevo.
