Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed concern about conflicts in Muslim countries, warning of the danger of the "disintegration" of the Islamic world, reports the Patria News Agency.
- The Islamic world is currently disintegrating, Erdogan told reporters on his return from Iran, where he, along with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, advocated for a cessation of the war in Yemen.
Erdogan, in power in Turkey since 2003, called on international Islamic organizations to react urgently and halt all conflicts in Muslim countries.
- You can have a different faith, but if you impose it on others, then you are destroying the ummah, Erdogan assessed.
Last week, Erdogan fiercely criticized the Iranian Shia authorities for their influence in Yemen, where Shia rebels have seized large parts of the territory, prompting an air intervention by the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia, writes Beta.
