(Patria) - The company Çengiz Insaat has sent a letter of intent to the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, offering to donate the repair of the railway line.
The letter was addressed to Minister Andrijana Katić and the acting director of the Railways Management Board, Mirza Hadžibegić.
We remind that the Supervisory Board of the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has still not appointed acting members of the company's Management Board, after the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina gave its prior consent at a session on Wednesday.
Nevertheless, Çengiz has submitted the letter of intent, which we are publishing.
“We are aware of the recent natural disaster that struck Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the challenges your company faces in the process of repairing damage to the railway infrastructure.
Starting from the fact that we are present in your country as a socially responsible company, we express our sympathy with the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and hereby express our readiness to provide assistance in overcoming the consequences of this natural disaster.
In this regard, we are addressing you with the desire to donate the necessary services and works for the repair and reconstruction of the railway line on the section Ostrožac - Grabovica, location Komadinovo vrelo.
The donation includes clearing the site of damaged infrastructure, carrying out preparatory works, preparing the necessary project documentation, and performing construction works on the reconstruction and repair of the railway line (construction of piles, reinforced concrete structures, construction of embankments above the structure, construction of gravel ballast)”, the letter of intent states.
We remind that the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina had previously tied the hands of the Railways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina by authorizing the Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to find a way to repair the railway line.
When the Motorways, in accordance with the law, refused this, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Nermin Nikšić, dismissed President Enis Džafić and part of the Management Board.
The Government's decision came after, a month and a half after the floods and landslides, the destroyed railway line in the south of Bosnia and Herzegovina had not been restored.
They found the culprit in the Management Board, and during the discussion at the session of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina when the decision on their dismissal was made, some ministers asked Džafić not to hide behind the law!?
Regardless, the fact is that the railway line is still hanging, the Management Board has not yet been appointed, and the population and economy no longer have time to wait.
