(Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina's best skier Elvedina Muzaferija was only two hundredths of a second away from her first points in the current World Cup season today.
Muzaferija finished the race in Cortina d’Ampezzo in 31st position with a +2.60 second deficit to the leader Stephanie Venier, and immediately behind Michelle Niederwieser who achieved a time of +2.58 seconds.
Today's race, which was held as part of the Audi FIS World Cup in Italy, once again showed the major problems that organizers are facing.
On a very demanding icy track, there was no official training yesterday, and today's competition was marked by a severe fall by American Mikaela Shiffrin.
Frederica Brignone also did not finish the race, and there was a lot of congestion on the podium itself.
Namely, alongside Austrian Venier, with a deficit of +0.39 seconds, was the second-placed Lara Gut-Behrami (SUI), while Valerie Grenier (CAN), Christina Ager (AUT), and Sofia Goggia (ITA) tied for third place with a deficit of +0.71 seconds.
The only BiH competitor in the Audi FIS Ski World Cup has a new opportunity tomorrow when another downhill race is scheduled.
The weekend will conclude with a Super-G competition, in which Muzaferija will also compete.
