Elvedina Muzaferija finishes without points in St. Moritz after a brave performance

(Patria) - The first downhill race within the Audi FIS Ski World Cup started this morning in St. Moritz, Switzerland, in ideal conditions.

However, due to a sudden change in weather after a fall and a long interruption due to an injury to Austrian Ellisabeth Reisinger, none of the competitors, including our Elvedina Muzaferija, reached the finish line.

The race was stopped after starting number 35, which was worn by Muzaferija.

Before the final decision by the organizers, the French team had already announced that their three competitors would not compete for safety reasons.

- I don't know if it was just brave or also crazy for all of us who started after Reisinger today. Unfortunately, these are circumstances we cannot influence.

I hope tomorrow's Super-G race will be an opportunity we talk about differently compared to yesterday's and today's - said Muzaferija, who finished today's downhill by skidding off the track after the second intermediate time.

Today in St. Moritz, 56 competitors were supposed to start, of whom 31 skiers took advantage of the ideal conditions on the track.

American Mikaela Shiffrin and Italians Sofia Goggia in second and Frederica Brignone in third place made it to the podium.
