Elmedin Dino the Excavator Operator: A Minister Who Has Written More Than He Has Read

By: Avdo Avdić/Istraga.ba

Do you know who Joe the Excavator Operator is? I know that Elmedin Konaković doesn't know without first using Wikipedia. So here's a brief explanation – Joe the Excavator Operator is a symbol of the October 5th protests in Serbia that overthrew Slobodan Milošević. His real name is Ljubisav Đokić. On October 5th, during the demonstrations, he drove his excavator toward the RTS building.

Do you know who Dino the Excavator Operator is? Even Elmedin Konaković knows that without excessive use of Wikipedia. Because Dino the Excavator Operator is him – Elmedin Konaković, personally. You also know why. But his extinguished excavators, with which he announced the demolition of SNSD cadres in BiH institutions, are not the subject of this text. Because even those blinded by Konaković's "eloquence" can see that.

Reacting to a column published on the Istraga website, which referred to the trial against Milorad Dodik, Elmedin Konaković wrote on Facebook: "First, his legal mentor Branko Perić called the trial against Dodik political and fabricated, and now Perić's apprentice Avdo Avdić has done the same. Avdo also added that the trial was 'fabricated' by former US ambassador to BiH Michael Murphy. Dodik eagerly awaited such claims to bolster his thesis that everything is fabricated against him and to once again attack the judiciary, especially the Court of BiH. What Avdo Avdić is doing can only be done by a stupid or paid person, and Avdo is not stupid."

If Elmedin Konaković had read the text, I, as the author, would certainly have to be worried after such a reaction from him and Dodik. But I know he didn't. Because the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina only writes. And he reads nothing. He is one of those people who has written much more in life than he has read. He hasn't even read that book he gave me in Hayat's studio. He used its first pages to write something of his own. Besides not reading, Elmedin Konaković rarely watches anything either. Except for red high heels. But that is already his (personal) problem. And I have no intention of dealing with that.

Konaković says I am BIA. Okay. As a "BIA officer," I found Franc Kos and at least five other war criminals who were still at large. Today they are in prison. But Elmedin Konaković doesn't know who Franc Kos is, nor who the members of the 10th Sabotage Detachment were. In those years, while I was dealing with Serbian murderers, Elmedin Konaković, although older than me, was dedicated to learning "on the job" in the field with his mentor, whom he doesn't remember. That mentor is named Amir Zukić and was the secretary general of the SDA. In those years, Konaković was "chasing" exams, while I was chasing criminals across the rugged terrain of the RS. If I started listing all the war criminals who ended up in prison after my reports, I would turn into Elmedin Konaković. And that is a mentally very difficult role. Somewhere on the edge of science.

Elmedin Konaković says that what I wrote about the trial against Milorad Dodik can only be written by a "stupid or paid" person, and that I am not stupid. Which means that, according to him, I am a mercenary.

If I were a mercenary, I would be sitting somewhere in an advisory chair for one of his cadres, listening to instructions from those who remove bottle caps "with a rear guard." But I am not. Those positions are reserved for "unpaid" journalists who use their potential to inform the public via Konaković's official accounts that "the power went out in Washington" and that the Minister of Foreign Affairs has gone "to the old man."

Elmedin Konaković writes that I said the trial against Milorad Dodik was "fabricated." First, that is nowhere written in the text. And the fact that the minister cannot distinguish the phrase "politically motivated" from the word "fabricated" shows that not everything can be found on Wikipedia. And, I repeat, so that if he happens to read this text, it will be a little clearer to him – the trial against Milorad Dodik is politically motivated. And the prosecutors were motivated by former ambassador Michael Murphy. The fact that Elmedin Konaković dare not say that only confirms the authenticity of his nickname "Carmine."

It is easy to speak the truth when it is popular. One must have more than "carmine" in their pockets to tell the truth even when everyone is afraid to say it. And so I repeat again – the trial against Milorad Dodik is politically motivated. Because if it were not politically motivated, the President of Republika Srpska would have been in prison long ago. For violating the BiH Constitution, attacking the constitutional order, and financial crime. But he is not. And it is not only because the "independent" state prosecutors only found "elements of a criminal offense" in his actions when Michael Murphy decided that Dodik should be stopped.

Dodik should have been in prison because he siphoned millions of marks from the entity and state budgets through family companies. He should have been in prison for undermining the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina. And why does he now face prison? Because he does not respect foreign authority. That means Dodik is allowed to destroy the Constitutional Court of BiH. He is allowed to destroy the budgets and constitutional order of BiH. He just must not say anything against the foreigners. The same foreigners who decided to suspend the Bosniak vote for one day so that Konaković's party could enter the government. And, who is the traitor of Bosnia and Bosniaks now? The answer is clear – the traitor can only be the one who accepted to be part of the government imposed by the retired Michael Murphy!
