Elektroprivreda proposes electricity price increase: Bills up to 8 percent higher due to production decline

(Patria) - A press conference was held at the premises of Elektroprivreda BiH where changes in electricity prices were announced.

Executive Director Nenad Ikanović confirmed that the proposal to harmonize prices has already been sent to FERK, citing production decline and consumption growth as the main reasons.

The introduction of block tariffs has been proposed: "green" bills will be on average 4.8 percent higher, "blue" 6.3 percent, while "red" will increase by 8 percent. Most households fall into the so-called green category.

General Director Sanel Buljubašić emphasized that consumption in FBiH currently exceeds production by 11.7 percent and expressed hope for the stabilization of mines such as Kreka and Kakanj to reduce dependence on electricity imports.

"The price of electricity is uncertain, and we do not want to be forced to buy from the market," he stated.
