
(Patria) - An investigator from the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH is at a location near the village of Izbišno, Foča municipality, in the Bistrica River canyon, coordinating the work of authorized officials participating in the exhumation process.
Remains of at least one person have been found at the location, which will be transferred for further forensic medical processing and identification through DNA analysis, in order to precisely determine the identity of the missing person.
According to information available so far, the remains could belong to a Bosniak national from the Foča area, missing in the autumn of 1992.
The exhumation process involved a forensic medicine pathologist, representatives of the BiH Missing Persons Institute, SIPA, ICMP, as well as police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RS, PS Foča, who secured the location and provided forensic technical support.
After the exhumation, the remains will be sent to KJKP “Gradska groblja” Visoko for further forensic processing.
