Efendić: The Troika will not succeed in ethnically arranging the Constitutional Court of BiH, but let it be recorded that they tried

(Patria) - One of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina for which the BiH Constitution does not prescribe any ethnic method of appointment is the Constitutional Court, said the president of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Semir Efendić.

"According to the Constitution, four judges are elected from the Federation of BiH, two from the RS, and three judges are appointed by the President of the European Court of Human Rights. The problem that makes Bosnia and Herzegovina a dysfunctional country is that ethnic appointments and ethnic decision-making block all institutions and processes, thereby completely nullifying democracy, even though we formally have elections," Efendić believes.

The president of the Party for BiH states: "We know which forces and by what methods led to the ethnic Constitution being adopted in Dayton. At that time, it could only be justified by one goal: to achieve peace instead of war.
But let it be recorded that today, some other political forces from Sarajevo, calling themselves the 'troika,' are demanding that the Constitutional Court also be organized and filled on an ethnic basis."

"Their justification is not achieving peace but staying in power, which was handed to them by Čović and Dodik, on the condition that they sell out the state and its institutions, the Constitutional Court, and the state Presidency. They will not get away with it. But let it be recorded that they were ready and attempted to create an ethnic Constitutional Court," Efendić concluded.
