Efendić accused NiP and media close to HDZ of cancelling rabbinical conference

(Patria) - The president of the Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Semir Efendić, commented on the cancellation of the rabbinical conference in Sarajevo, stating that it was a "well-rehearsed scenario" and an attempt to portray the capital of BiH as intolerant and antisemitic, although such claims, according to him, have no basis in reality.

Efendić claims in a Facebook post that "key roles in this story were played by media close to HDZ, as well as the domestic wing of the FETO organization (Gulenists), especially prominent members of the NiP party, Adnan Delić and Ahmed Kunalić".

According to him, their public reactions contributed to the hotel in Sarajevo, where the conference was supposed to be held, cancelling the event.

"Neither one nor the other represents Sarajevo in any way, and their reactions, as well as the cancellation of the conference itself, cannot be attributed to Sarajevo," Efendić stated.

The leader of SBiH also sharply criticized the president of the Party of People and Justice, Elmedin Konaković, emphasizing that he "does not have the legitimacy to represent Bosniaks", because he is a "traitor to Bosniaks who outvoted the Bosniak majority in the Federal Parliament and formed an unconstitutional government of FBiH with the help of Dodik, Čović, and other Croatian parties".

According to Efendić, Konaković can speak in Brussels and the EU "exclusively for himself, not in the name of Bosniaks".

"If the aforementioned NiP members are truly sincere in their intention to cancel anything, then they should have cancelled the parade they brought to Sarajevo and have been holding for years with the security of their Minister of Internal Affairs," he said.

Efendić points out that, next time European rabbis decide to organize a conference in Sarajevo, they should do so in cooperation with "official institutions of the city, the state, as well as the Jewish religious community in BiH", so that, as he said, "it does not happen again that a private company and a few Gulenists decide on such a gathering".

Only when the conference is officially presented, he believes, can its content and positions be discussed.
