Efendić: SDP tries to convince us that BiH's appeal in the 'Kovačević' case sent itself to Strasbourg

(Patria) - Semir Efendić, president of SBiH, shared his opinion on social media regarding developments in the 'Kovačević vs. BiH' ruling.

"Those from SDP apparently want to convince us that Bosnia and Herzegovina's appeal in the 'Kovačević' case sent itself to the Court in Strasbourg!?

Who elected the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers who wrote to the Court that the agents are still legitimate? Was it not perhaps the SDP representatives in the BiH Parliament? Of course it was! Who signed the travel orders for the agents to go to Strasbourg at state expense to fight against the greatest opportunity Bosnia and Herzegovina has had since Dayton?

The SDP coalition partner, Minister Hurtić, for whom they say his appointment increased the capacity of something by 25%. You shouldn't have increased it that way, but we'll talk about that separately…

According to the ruling in the 'Kovačević' case, entities cannot be electoral units for the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina; instead, the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina must be one electoral unit. Is there anything more valuable that could have been achieved after Dayton than this unification of the state into a single electoral unit for the election of the state Presidency?

Yet, against such a ruling, Bosnia and Herzegovina appealed through the agents of the Council of Ministers. Why did you agree to any appointments in the BiH Council of Ministers until the status of the agents, whom your Chairwoman and the relevant minister support, was resolved? How can you so cold-bloodedly vote for the appointments of dozens of HDZ and SNSD cadres without resolving the status of the agents whose mandates expired long ago and appointing new ones, while being aware of the importance of the ruling that should have been implemented instead of appealed? You voted for the appointment of the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, Robert Vidovoć from HDZ; you voted for the appointment of Nataša Grubiša as Director of the BiH Agency for Civil Service, also an HDZ cadre; you voted for the appointment of Josip Merdža (Secretary of HNS) as Director of the BiH Institute for Intellectual Property; you voted for the appointment of Zoran Željko, also HDZ, as Director of the Institute for Economic Planning of the BiH Council of Ministers; and not to list further, there is much more.

You did all this without first resolving the issue of the BiH agents before the Human Rights Court in Strasbourg, whose mandates have expired. And now you would try to convince us that the appeal they submitted on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not your responsibility. Yes, it is, it is.

You have spoken publicly a lot about the failure of the revision of the judgment against Serbia; however, if, along with the appeal by your agents, the lobbying of Croatia and the OHR succeeds in overturning the first-instance ruling of the Strasbourg Court in the Kovačević case, your responsibility will be historic and no one will ever absolve you of it," wrote Efendić.
