(Patria) - Edin Džeko is leaving Fenerbahçe after two years, and the Turkish giant has already found his replacement. It's the German Thomas Muller.
Fenerbahçe has decided to end their cooperation with Edin Džeko at the end of this season. The Diamond will likely leave Istanbul after his contract expires and continue his career elsewhere.
Instead of Džeko, the Turkish giant has decided to sign Bayern legend Thomas Muller. Fenerbahçe officials are negotiating the deal with the 35-year-old attacking player and have put all their efforts into bringing him in.
Džeko will thus leave Fener after two years, a team where he left a deep mark despite the lack of trophies.
It is not yet known where the 39-year-old might continue his career. Fiorentina is mentioned as a potential new destination, but there is no doubt there will be offers.
Although he is in his 40th year, Džeko is still physically impressive. He clearly shows this on the field and has been truly phenomenal at Fener.
This season, Edin has played in as many as 46 matches and has a record of 19 goals and seven assists. In total, in 92 appearances, he has scored 44 goals and assisted 17 times.
There is no doubt that many teams will gladly sign Džeko. He brings immense experience with him and is a player who can decide matches with one move.
The family will surely have a significant influence on the decision about his new club. This was the case when he arrived at Fenerbahçe, and it will certainly be interesting to see what Džeko ultimately decides, writes Sportsport.ba.
An interesting photograph has been posted on Edin Džeko's official Facebook page, which likely alludes to his arrival and possibly his departure from this Turkish club.
