
(Patria) - The captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, Edin Džeko, and player for Germany's Schalke 04, turned 40 today. The Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina also sent congratulations.
"Happy 40th birthday to our captain Edin Džeko, the player with the most appearances and goals scored in the 'Zmajevi' jersey.
Džeko has played 146 matches for the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team and scored 72 goals. He made his debut on June 2, 2007, in a 3-2 victory against Turkey, scoring his first goal on his debut.
He currently plays for FC Schalke 04, and in his rich career, he has played for Željezničar, Teplice, Usti nad Labem, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Roma, Inter, Fenerbahce, and Fiorentina.
The leadership and administration of the NS/FS BiH congratulate Edin Džeko on his birthday and wish him all the best in the continuation of his career," the Association announced.
