Edin Džeko Tops Europe: Bosnian Player Achieves Admirable Feat

By Haris Ljevo

Captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team Edin Džeko has once again made headlines in the world's biggest media outlets. Our striker achieved a feat on Saturday that no one before him has managed.

In the derby of the Italian football championship, our footballer scored two goals in Roma's victory against the league leaders Napoli, and Džeko's second goal was his jubilee 50th in a Roma jersey since arriving from Manchester City.

Džeko thus became the first European footballer to score 50 or more goals in three of the top five European leagues.

Playing for German club Wolfsburg, Džeko scored 66 goals, while he scored 50 goals for English club Manchester City. He was champion of Germany and England with both clubs. With his goals against Napoli, Džeko has now managed to reach 50 goals in Italy as well.

Following this incredible success, our player has received numerous accolades in Italy and around the world. His coach at Roma, Eusebio Di Francesco, believes he has never seen such a technically gifted player in his life.

- He gave me an excellent response, I spoke with him for 50 minutes and I must say he is very smart and understood that he needs to work more for the team, not so much for goals, but for the team, he sacrificed himself. I have never seen a player as technically strong as Džeko, regardless of his long legs - said Di Francesco.

One of the most reputable sports newspapers in the world, Gazzetta dello Sport, dedicated its front page to our player, calling him Dzegol.

Džeko's great form is a great encouragement for coach Robert Prosinečki as well, considering that our national team expects matches against Bulgaria and Senegal at the end of this month.
