
(Patria) - The best BH tennis player Damir Džumhur retired from his match at the Canberra Challenger early this morning due to a back injury.
After defeating the favored Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech, Džumhur faced Swiss player Alexander Ritschard in the round of 16 this morning.
Unfortunately, the player from Sarajevo was forced to retire from the match in the second set with the score at 6:1 and 2:1 for the Swiss.
Džumhur expressed his regret over retiring from the match on social media, announcing that he will try to recover by the start of the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open.
The Australian Open qualifiers begin on January 8, and the main tournament on January 14.
